Hollywood on Trial is an American documentary from the year 1976.

Action

The film highlights the impact of McCarthyism on the film and show industry. Interviews with victims, who were summoned to appear before the Committee on Un-American Activities, the results of the surveys show. Particular attention shall submit the film to the Hollywood Ten, ten actors, playwrights and directors who had refused to testify before the committee and were sentenced to prison terms.

At the International Film Festival Mannheim -Heidelberg David Helpern awarded in 1976 with the International Film Award.

1977, the film for the Oscar in the category was nominated for Best Documentary.
