Holocausto (band)

Holocausto is a thrash and black metal band from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The band was founded in 1985 by Marco Antônio, Valério Exterminator and Rodrigo dos Anjos. To date, five recordings have been published in Cogumelo Records. From journalists Eduardo Rivadavia it was " perhaps the most controversial Brazilian heavy metal band in history" as described.

History

Holocausto was founded in 1985 by bassist Marco Antônio, vocalist and guitarist Valério Exterminator (vocals / guitar ) and guitarist Rodrigo dos Anjos. After the first demo was recorded called Massacre in 1985 and had contributed to a split release of the Warfare Noise I by Cogumelo Records, created the band with the release of the debut album Campo Exterminio a controversy. After South American bands like Sepultura, Vulcano and Sarcófago had already challenged with anti-Christian and satanic texts, Holocausto graphically described the Nazi atrocities in the concentration camps, which meant that they were described as anti-Semitic. The band spoke to the fact that " they are just trying in all its gruesome details portray the horrors of the Holocaust " and that " were thought the most shocking and decisive representation of the album to to verdeutlichem their own disgust at this Ereigenissen that they has prompted this name. "

In subsequent years, the occupation of the band changed several times while she released several more albums about Cogumelo Records. The lack of breakthrough could be traced back to the frequent lineup changes, the only late use of English texts, and the issue of their debut album, so the band broke up in 1994. In 2004, the band was back together and published a influenced by hardcore punk album called De Volta ao front in 2005.

Style

The band initially played more music with black metal influence, but the band developed into a pure thrash metal band, where it is compared with other bands like Sepultura. Sonically remember the songs of works by bands like Bathory and Venom.
