The Holzgauerhaus Weathertop (including Lech Valley Weathertop ) is a mountain in the emperor in the Lech Valley Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The distinctive tower of rock that slopes up to 500 m perpendicular, with 2895 m above sea level. A. the sixth highest peak in the Lech Valley Alps.

Location

The mountain lies to the east above the Fredericksburg - Simms hut on the top of the valley of the Sulzeltals, 7 km air line south of Holzgau in the Lech Valley and five kilometers east of Emperor. Adjacent peaks to the north, separated by the sheep charter of Etlerkopf ( 2,693 m), the South East Fallbacher peak ( 2,723 m) and to the south the fire peak with 2,852 meters above sea level.

Rock

The Holzgauerhaus weather tip is made of hard Oberrhät limestone from the Upper Triassic Mesozoic period.

Base and easiest ascent

  • The easiest route ( normal route ) to the summit leads from Frederick Simms - hut at 2,002 meters on the south Fallenbacherjoch ( 2,753 m) on the south ridge in 2 ½ hours to the summit. The last 80 meters of altitude require easy climbs in the area UIAA I, however, exposed in the summit area and a site is provided with a cable insurance. Sure-footedness and freedom are required.
  • The summit is also of Emperor ( 1,518 m) can also be reached via the Fallenbacherjoch out in 5 hours by the Kaiser.
