Homer G. Tasker

Homer Gold Tasker ( born February 19, 1899 in Grant County, South Dakota; † 9 January 1990 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American engineer, who was nominated twice for an Academy Award in the category Best Sound.

Life

Tasker started his career in the film industry of Hollywood at Universal Studios as a sound engineer in 1936 at the movie slogan! of film director Lew Landers and worked until 1937 in the production of a total of 19 films.

For Three cute girls (Original Title: Three Smart Girls, 1936) directed by Henry Koster with Deanna Durbin, Nan Grey and Nella Walker in the lead roles, he was first nominated for the Academy Awards in 1937 for the Academy Award for best sound. Another nomination for the Oscar in this category, he received in 1938 for the film 100 men and a girl ( Original title: One Hundred Men and a Girl, 1937), which arose also directed Henry Koster and in the Deanna Durbin, Adolphe Menjou and Eugene Pallette played the lead roles.

Last worked Tasker in 1937 as a sound engineer at California Straight Ahead! directed by Arthur Lubin with John Wayne, Louise Latimer and Robert McWade with.
