Hopedale is a village in Tazewell County in the center of the U.S. state of Illinois. Hopedale is located 39 km south of Peoria in central part of Illinois.

In 2000, Hopedale had 929 inhabitants; at the official estimate 2009 932 have been identified.

Geography

History

Hopedale was founded in 1827 by Asron Orendorff. Orendorff was that the place is called Osceola.

However, already some place exsistierten under that name in Illinois and so they gave the place the name of the Hopedale Township, within which lies the place. On August 12 1853 a post office was established in 1872 Hopedale was incorporated as a Village. In 1868, two railway companies built the railway line through the town, which is still in use.

1954 in Hopedale medical center was built. It performs both operations and rehabilitation and support measures.
