Goodfield is a Village in the U.S. in the U.S. state of Illinois. The village is a part of Tazewell Country and on the other in Woodford County. In 2000 Goodfield had 686 inhabitants; in the year 2009 858 residents were identified in the official estimate.

Geography

Goodfield is located on the Mackinaw River in southeastern suburb area of the city of Peoria to 40 ° 37'38 " north latitude and 89 ° 16'21 " west longitude and extending over 13.88 km ², which consist exclusively of land area.

On the southern edge of Goodfield Interstate 74, which is the shortest route from Indianapolis in the Quad Cities runs. Through the center of the city leads the U.S. Highway 150 and parallel to a railway line.

History

Goodfield was founded in 1888 under the name of " Town of Guthville " by John Guth. Founding reason was the railroad that took a new route in operation. Nearly a year later, the name of the place in Goodville has been renamed.

In 1957 Goodville was officially the status of " Village " award. In the same year a sewer was planned, which was built in 1980.
