Woodford County (Illinois)
The Woodford County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2010, the County had 38 664 inhabitants and a population density of 28.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Eureka.
Geography
The County is located in north-central Illinois on the left bank of the Illinois River, a left tributary of the Mississippi. It has an area of 1406 square kilometers, of which 38 square kilometers are water surface. At the Woodford County borders the following Nachbarcountys:
History
The Woodford County was formed on February 27, 1841 from parts of the McLean County and Tazewell County. It was named in Kentucky to Woodford County. From 1841 to 1843 Versailles was the seat of county government, then, until 1894 this was Metamora, followed by Eureka.

According to the census in 2010 lived in Woodford County 38 664 people in 14,083 households. The population density was 28.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. In the 14,083 households lived statistically 2.66 per person.
The racial the population was composed of 97.4 percent white, 0.7 percent African American, 0.2 percent Native American, 0.8 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 1.0 percent were descended from two or more races.
