Hořičky

Hořičky ( German Horschitzka, also Kleinhorschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers east of Dvůr Králové nad Labem and belongs to Okres Náchod.

Geography

Hořičky is located southeast of the kingdom of the forest on the left side above the valley of the brook Válovický creek.

Neighboring towns are Kalousov, Posadov and Křižanov in the north, Mečov in the northeast, Litoboř in the east, Svetla and host Inca in the south east, Lhota pod Hořičkami, Újezdec and Novy Dvur in the south, Končiny, Husí Krky, Zdar and Horni Žlíbek the southwest, Chlístov and Brzice in the west and Mezilečí in the northwest.

History

Hořičky was first mentioned in 1357 as a possession of the Knight of Ludger Hořiček documented. A further mention was made in 1359, when the then Chwalkowitzer priest Jan was appointed parish priest of Hořičky. The goods in Hořičky were connected at the beginning of the 15th century to the reign Litoboř. They were then part of the rule of Giant Castle and the end of the 16th century the reign Náchod.

The parish of Hořičky was the center for the surrounding villages and since the 17th century there was a parish school. From 1714 a new church was built, which was the target of a two-day annual Holy Ghost pilgrimage. During the 19th century, Hořičky developed into a popular summer resort. Due to the medical practitioner Antonín Pich fractures were treated successfully.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hořičky formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Nové Město nad Metují. At the end of the 19th century, a school was built fünfklassige. At this time came Hořičky to the district Náchod. In the sanatoriums of doctors Alois Kutik and Kaspar Rosa bone and joint diseases were cured at the beginning of the 20th century. 1920 opened a public school. In addition, there were shops, who lived from Kurbetrieb especially. In Hořičky was a post office and a police station.

The municipality consists of the villages Hořičky Chlístov ( Chlistau ) Hořičky ( Horschitzka ), Křižanov ( Kreuzhöfner ) Mečov ( Metschow ) and Nový Dvůr ( Neuhof ) and the settlements Husí Krky ( Husykrk ) Kalousov ( Kalausow ) and Končiny ( Končiny ).
