Horná Súča

Sucă Horna (Hungarian Felsőszúcs ) is a municipality in Trenčín Region in western Slovakia.

The place is located in the White Carpathians by the stream Súčanka on the border with the Czech Republic, about 16 km north of Trenčín located. The highest point of land is the Javorník ( 783 m nm). In addition to the main town Horna Sucă the community is divided still into these districts: Dolna Závrská, Dúbrava Horna Závrská, Krásny Dub, Trnavka and Vlčí Vrch. In addition, also includes other small settlements to the municipality.

The town was first mentioned in 1204, together with the church today Dolna Sucă, as de Sucza. Since the 16th century the two churches today are mentioned separately.

Until 1918 the town belonged in the county Trenčín the Kingdom of Hungary and came afterwards to the newly formed Czechoslovakia, and now Slovakia.
