Horné Srnie

Horne Srnie (Hungarian Felsőszernye - to 1902 Felsőszrnye or older also Trencsénszrnye ) is a municipality in Trenčín Region in western Slovakia.

The village lies on the coming of Moravia river Vlára, partly in the White Carpathians, 18 km north-east of Trenčín and 15 km south of Brumov - Bylnice (Czech Republic) away. In the White Carpathians are a few small settlements, one of which - Sidónia - heard as Sidonie to the Czech Republic since 1997.

The municipal area several finds were found from the La Tène period. The village was first mentioned in 1439 as a villa Zerny and was on a royal road to Hungary from Moravia, which was about the Wlarapass. Since the end of the 18th century, the church is an industrial town, first with a glass hut, then since the 19th century with a cement plant.
