Hostomice (Teplice District)

Hostomice ( German Hostomitz ) is a market town in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers northeast of the Valley of the Bílina Biela on the border between the Erzgebirge and the Hus - hill, the gate in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Bohemian Uplands.

History

Vratislava, widow of Kojatov, founded in 1255, the convent of the Crucified in Světec and gave this next Hostomice another fourteen villages. In 1438 the inhabitants took part in the side of the Hussites at the Battle of Sellnitz. After the wars, it came to the new division of assets to the Lords of giant castle. 1620 Jan von Vřesovice gave the place the Archbishop of Prague.

During the industrialization in the 19th century, the village Farming changed his face. Besides Glassware and brick plants lignite was mined in opencast mining. Since 2006 Hostomice is a Městys.
