Hosťová

Hosťová ( until 1948 slovak " confess "; Hungarian Nyitrageszte - Geszte to 1907 ) is a Slovak village in Okres Nitra and in Nitriansky kraj with 362 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011).

Geography

The municipality is located in the hill country Žitavská pahorkatina ( part of the Danube 's hill country ) at the origin of the stream Hostovský Brook, which flows into Vráble in the Žitava. The center is located at an altitude of 197 m nm and is located eleven kilometers east of Nitra.

History

Hosťová was first mentioned in writing in 1232 as Guesta.

From 1976 to 1990 Hosťová was part of the community Pohranice.

Population

According to the 2011 census lived in Hosťová 361 inhabitants, of whom 242 Magyars, 117 Slovaks and a Jew. One resident did not provide data. 344 residents pleaded with the Roman Catholic Church, two residents of the Reformed Church and a resident of the Apostolic Church; a resident was other denomination. Eight residents were non-denominational and five inhabitants, the denomination is not determined.
