Hotham River

The Hotham River is a river in south-west of the Australian state of Western Australia. He is one of the two source rivers of the Murray River.

Geography

The river rises near Narrogin and flows in a northerly direction to the Dryandra Woodland, before he leads west by Wandering and Boddington. In the vicinity of Mount Saddleback he joins the Williams River to the Murray River.

History

1830 discovered the explorer Thomas Bannister this river, which was named by the Governor of Western Australia James Stirling to the Vice- Admiral Sir Henry Hotham.
