House of Amboise

The house is the family of Amboise Men ( Sires ) of Amboise from the 11th to the 15th century.

History

The family acquired the dominion Amboise as dowry Hersende de Buzançais, who married Lisois de Bazougers, Seneschal of Count Fulk of Anjou Nerra. Their son Sulpice d' Amboise transferred his fealty 1050 of Anjou to the Count of Blois. In the 12th century the city was under Hugues I d' Amboise ( † 1128 ), the son Sulpices, the scene of a brilliant court.

The rule of Amboise in 1434 confiscated and united with the crown because Louis d'Amboise was in a conspiracy against Georges de La Trémoille, one of the favorites of the king engaged. Some years earlier, the Amboise had inherited the viscounty Thouars, who went about Louis ' daughters to the house La Trémoille.

Longer stock had the younger line in Chaumont -sur -Loire, even if they also lost their possessions after participating Pierre d' Amboise at the Ligue du Bien public. This branch of the family died out in 1525 in his marital line and falls on mainly by the large number of church dignitaries that you come from, most notably the Cardinal Georges d' Amboise, the minister of King Louis XII.

A special feature is beyond the illegitimate line of Amboise, who provided the surgeons of the French kings over several generations - from Francis I to Henry IV
