Houston Independent School District

Houston Independent School District ( HISD short ) is the school district, which includes all public schools in the city of Houston in south Texas. All schools in a school district in the United States usually have similar free days and similar school rules.

HISD is the largest school district in Texas and the seventh largest in the United States. It includes Elementary Schools ( grades K -5) Middle Schools (grades 6-8), and high schools ( grades 9-12 ).
