Hradčovice

Hradčovice ( German Radschowitz, formerly Hradschowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers north-west of Uherský Brod and belongs to Okres Uherské Hradiště.

Geography

Hradčovice extends right side of Olšava in the valley of the tributary creek Hradčovický. The village is situated in the highlands hill country belonging to Vizovická Prakšická pahorkatina on the edge of the Natural Park. To the north, the Rovná hora rises (350 m ) in the north- east, the Kamenná (303 m), to the east the Skákavka (326 m), in the south of Myšince (352 m ) southwest of the Kamenný (348 m ) in the west of Milonín ( 323 m ) and northwest of the Lovisko ( 349 m). On the southern outskirts of the village the railway line Brno- Vlárský runs in the valley of Olšava průsmyk. On the opposite bank the European route 50/Staatsstraße I/50 leading from Brno to Trencin over.

Neighboring towns are Bílovice and Nedachlebice in the north, Lhotka in the northeast, Drslavice in the east, Obora, Havřice and Uherský Brod in the southeast, Vlčnov in the south, and Veletiny Podolí the southwest, Popovice in the west and Javorovec and Mistřice in the northwest.

History

Archaeological discoveries in the field of community date back to the Neolithic period. At the time of the Great Moravian Empire was located here, the fortified settlement Bolegradica. The first written mention of the village was in 1247, when the owner of the domain Břeclav, Ulrich III. inflicted by Spanheim the church as reparation for the damage to his monastery Velehrad and his descendants salvation two Huben & Ponds in Radichowitz left. After the abolition of patrimonial Hradšovice / Radschowitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Uherský Brod. The present name is in use since the beginning of the 20th century. At that time existed in Hradčovice several mills, a sugar mill, a blacksmith shop, a brickyard and sawmill. Attractions
