Hradec Králové Region

The Hradec Králové Region ( German: Hradec Kralove Region), is one of the 14 regions of the Czech Republic. The region is located in north -eastern Bohemia. Council is based in Hradec Králové ( German Hradec Kralove ).

The circle is divided into five districts ( Hradec Králové, Jičín, Náchod, Rychnov nad Kněžnou and Trutnov ).

The group also includes the Giant Mountains and the Eagle Mountains and the fertile Elbe Valley. In the Giant Mountains is the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, the Snow Mountain ( 1,602 m above sea level. M. ).

The circle consists of 448 municipalities and 43 cities. Small towns with up to 500 people make up 65 % of all communities. The population density is 115 inhabitants / km ² and is thus slightly lower than the national average.

In cultural and natural monuments of the county is among the richest in the republic. Among the most important part of the Giant Mountains National Park and the National Nature Reserve Adrspassko - Teplice Rocks in Broumov and the surface nature reserve Eagle Mountains. In addition, a large number of small-scale nature reserves.

With about 548,000 inhabitants, occupies the tenth circle in the Czech Republic. The characteristics can be described as an agricultural- industrial. In the northeast, the textile industry settled. The tourism became the most important economic factor in the region.

Policy

Governor ( HEJTMAN ) the region since 2008, the Social Democrat Lubomir franc, which the replaced in this function between establishment of the region in 2000 and 2008 incumbent Civic Democratic Pavel Bradik. Francesco is at the head of the Council of the Regions, which is formed from six politicians of the CSSD, two members of the KSČM and a non-Party since 2012.

The last elections to the regional parliament were held on 12 and 13 October 2012. With a turnout of 38.43 %, the Social Democrats were 19.73 % (or 12 out of 45 seats) strongest, followed closely by the KSČM with 19.39 % (11 seats). In a joint coalition list, on the candidate include the KDU- CSL, which accounted for 12.07% (7 seats ). For the Civic Democrats 10.62% of the votes were cast (6 seats ), on the TOP 09 accounted for 8.25% of the vote ( 5 seats ) and for the regional party " VÝCHODOČEŠI " ( Osttschechen ) voted in 7.69 % of the voters (4 seats). The remaining 18.02 % of the votes were cast for parties that failed at the 5 % threshold.
