Huánuco Region
The Huánuco Region (Spanish: Región Huánuco, Departamento de Huánuco, Quechua Wanuku suyu ) is a region in the Central Peruvian Andes. Covering an area of 36848.85 km2, 730 871 people (2005 ). The capital is Huanuco.
Geography
The part Huayhuash mountains dominating the landscape. The highest mountain is the Yerupajá with 6,632 meters. The river Marañón limits the land in the west and the Huallaga cuts through the region and flows past the capital.
