Huf Haus

The HUF HAUS GmbH & Co. KG is a company based in hard rock in the Westerwald, which offers wood and glass buildings internationally. In the area of ​​prefabricated, the company is the world market leader and niche leader for half-timbered architecture. In the tradition of the Bauhaus designs of the architect Manfred Adams, a student of Sep Ruf, all structures that are built on the basis of a truss construction (wood frame construction ), and are built from wood and glass.

History

In 1912 Johann Huf a carpentry in the Westerwald village crumbs, a year later, the company was moved to hard rock. Since 1948, the son of Franz Huf led the company and expanded it into a nationwide provider of carpentry work, for example in churches in the Rhineland, the construction of the main post office in Bonn (1950 ) and the German and Arabian Pavilion at the Brussels World's Fair ( 1957/1958 ). 1972 takes place together with Manfred Adams the development of the hoof half-timbered house in 2000, whose basic principles are still being implemented in all homes. As of 1996, the grandson Georg Huf and Thomas Trotter led the company that now operates an international expansion strategy. On September 20, 2011 Thomas Trotter died at the age of 51 years.

Companies and Products

The company produces about 150 buildings ( single and multi- family homes and commercial buildings ), of which about 40 percent is exported annually. 2009, five houses were exported to China. Britain in 2008 was almost 50 houses per year, the most important export country. By 2007 Huf Haus had 107 building built in the UK, where a " Huf Haus owner 's group " has established. Hermann Simon mentioned Huf Haus in his eponymous book as an example of a " Hidden Champion ".
