Hugh French Thomason

Hugh French Thomason ( born February 22, 1826 in Smith County, Tennessee; † 30 July 1893 in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas) was an American politician from the 19th century.

Thomason 1861 represented his home state of Arkansas in the Secession Convention and then in the Provisional Konföderiertenkongress of the Confederate States. After the war twice, active in 1866 and 1886, in the State Legislature of Arkansas. He also represented his country at the 1874 Constitutional Convention. In the same year he ran for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. After that, he was in 1880 in the Senate of Arkansas operates. From 1890 to 1893 he held the office of judge in Arkansas.

Hugh French Thomason died in Van Buren, where he was also buried in the Fairview Cemetery.
