Huité

Huité is a place and a municipality in the department of Zacapa in Guatemala. The place is located almost 160 kilometers northeast of Guatemala City and about 30 km west of the city of Zacapa, near the Atlantic Highway CA 9 height 305 m.

The 87 km ² large municipality located in the southwest Zacapas and extends from the valley of the Río Motagua in the south of it lying mountains. It has around 10,000 inhabitants, of whom the majority are Ladinos. The municipality is next to the main town Huité 22 " rural communities " ( Aldeas ), of which La Reforma is in the Motagua Valley the most important. From there a paved road to the south in the valley of the Río Huité where there is the same place. In the municipality there are more than " Touricentro " designated pools with small amusement parks.

Huité was raised in 1957 to the municipality, before that it was a rural community to Cabañas.

Adjacent Municipalities are Cabañas in the West, Usumatlán the northwest, Teculutan in the north, Estanzuela in the Northeast and Zacapa in the east. In the south Huité adjacent to the Department of Chiquimula.
