Hungary women's national volleyball team

The Hungarian national volleyball team of women is a selection of the best Hungarian players who represents the Association Magyar Röplabda Szövetség in international tournaments and international matches.

History

World cup

In the first Volleyball World Championship Hungary was sixth. Ten years later, it was only enough for elves rank. 1970 missed the Hungarians only just a medal and in 1974 they were again in sixth. In the next two tournaments they came no more on place 13 and 10 also.

Olympic games

In Munich in 1972, Hungary was the first time in the Olympic tournament there and finished fifth. For the Games in 1976 and 1980 the Hungarian women in fourth were still closer to a medal.

European

In its first four appearances at a European Volleyball Championship, the Hungarian women occupied the sixth place, respectively. However, in the first three tournaments only seven or six teams were there while it was 1958, the sixth of twelve courses. From 1963 to 1971, it was with the ranks seven and five similar results. In 1975 Hungary the final against the Soviet Union and two years later, the Hungarians were behind the Soviet women and the GDR third parties. After a fourth place finish in 1979 there were 1981 and 1983 two more third places. The next two tournaments ended Hungary ninth and tenth. Subsequently, the Hungarian women could not qualify.

World Cup

1977 Hungary played to date only time in the World Cup and finished sixth.

World Grand Prix

Hungary has never participated in the World Grand Prix.
