Hymenophore

The hymenophore is part of the fruiting body ( at Agaricomycotina ) or of the fruit bearing ( at Ustilaginomycotina, Pucciniomycotina ) of the Mushroom Fungi ( Basidiomycota ). Ascomycetes ( Ascomycota ) and abdominal fungi ( Gasteromycetes ) therefore have no hymenophore. The hymenophore may for example be in the form of fins, tubes, pores, ridges or barbs; it is the bearer of the hymenium.

Until the 20th century was the basic structure of Hymenophors to the systematization of the fungi. However, it turned out that this must therefore do not reflect phylogenetic relationships not necessarily related to the evolutionary development and. These are distinguished rather from the composition of meat of Hymenophors ( Hymenophoraltrama ).
