Hypodorian mode

The Hypodorische mode is associated with Doric Plagaltonart. In the medieval system of church modes it is also called second sound or protus plagalis. It differs from the Doric sound ( protus authenticus ) by a fourth shifted downward range ( ambitus ) and another repercussa. However, the final, remains the same. ( Doric: Ambitus d- d1, final, d, repercussa a; Hypodorisch: Ambitus A- a1, final, d, f repercussa )

For today's applications (eg in modal jazz) hypodorische the mode does not matter, because no distinction is made in the modal scales between authentic and plagal. Here there is only the Doric, but no hypodorische scale.
