Ian Ashbee

Ian Ashbee ( born September 6, 1976 in Birmingham ) is a former English footballer, who last played for Preston North End in the Football League Championship.

Playing career

Ian Ashbee began his career in 1994 at Derby County. However, since it only once there came in his first two years for use, he left the club and joined the team at Cambridge United. There he played for six years before he left the club in 2002 to obtain a contract with the fourth division Hull City.

In Hull 's debut failed him completely and he received a red card in the first game. Then he blossomed into a favorite player by fans and coaches. The ultimate goal for promotion to the Football League One against Yeovil Town scored Ashbee.

Even after that he was always a regular player and team captain.

Comments

As the only player in the history of English football, he ran as a captain on the same team in the first four professional leagues.
