Ibrahim Hashem

Ibrahim Hashem (Arabic إبراهيم هاشم, DMG Hasim Ibrahim, * 1888 in Nablus, † June 12, 1958 in Baghdad ) was six times Prime Minister of Jordan (October 18, 1933 to September 28, 1938, May 19, 1945-25. May 1946, May 25, 1946 to February 4, 1947, December 21, 1955 to January 8, 1956, July 1, 1956 to October 29, 1956 and April 24, 1957 until May 18, 1958).

Hashem studied in Istanbul. In 1915 he joined the army, later he became a member of the Arab government in Damascus. He taught law at the University of Damascus. In 1920 he moved to Transjordan.

In 1933, he was there for the first time Prime Minister, Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Supreme Court. According to the Jordanian parliamentary elections of October 1956 he was replaced by Sulaimān to - Nābulusī, but was already in April 1957 after the fall of Nābulusīs - back head of government.

In 1958 he took an active part in the merger of Jordan with Iraq to the Arab Federation and traveled together with the Defence Minister Suleiman Tukan and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Chlusi al Chairi to Baghdad. Located near the Baghdad airport, they were attacked by revolutionaries and Hashem and toucan perished.
