İbrahim Tatlıses

İbrahim Tatlıses ( born January 1, 1952 in Şanlıurfa ) whose real name is Ibrahim Tatlı is a Turkish actor and singer with Arab and Kurdish roots. He is an important representative of arabesque music, he is also a well-known television presenter, producer and entrepreneur in Turkey.

Life and work

İbrahim Tatlıses, called Ibo, was born in 1952 in Şanlıurfa in Turkey as the son of an Arab - Kurdish family. His stage name " Tatlıses " means " sweet voice". He has his own show and a radio station, is an actor and entertainer. Ever since his appearance on the Harald Schmidt Show in 1998, he is also known in Germany. Even in his youth he sang at weddings and festivals. In 1975, a music producer was aware of him, but his first album was not a success. At the age of 23, he moved to Istanbul. He stayed first with odd jobs until in 1978 his second album " Ayaginda Kundura " brought out. This earned him the breakthrough and was the beginning of a until the late 1980s, continuing commercially successful career. The unmarried İbrahim Tatlıses has five children. He owns several companies, including restaurant chains, a tour bus company, an airline, a private radio station, a television station, a cheese and yoghurt production company and a textile manufacturing company. Because of his great success, he is referred to in the media as Imperator. For the parliamentary elections in July 2007, İbrahim Tatlıses initially presented as an Independent in his home town of Şanlıurfa, then later with the Genç Parti in Istanbul for election and suffered a crushing election defeat. The Genç Parti received around 3 percent votes and failed significantly to the 10 percent electoral threshold Turkey.

In the late evening of 13 March 2011, the singer was ( Ibo Show ) seriously injured after recording his show at the transmitter Beyaz TV in an attack with a large-caliber machine gun. Tatlıses was reportedly hit in the head, after which he was operated on several times. The spokesman for the treating hospital reported on the night that the singer was out of danger. On the evening of March 16, a police known crime boss was arrested as a suspicious customer.
