IFK Mora
IFK Mora is a Swedish alliance club from Mora, composed of six specialized on different sports sports clubs. The associated cross-country ski club in 1922 initiated the first Vasaloppet and is home to internationally known club athletes who were at the Winter Olympics to the medal winners. The football club played two seasons in the second highest Swedish league
History
The IFK Mora founded in 1909 as a local branch of the Sports Association Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna after sport had been operated as early as 1896 in the ski club Engelbrecht and successor club Mora IF. The club existed as polysportiver club until 1992. Subsequently, the individual departments solved as independent associations that constituted themselves under the umbrella of the alliance association.
Cross-country skiing
Nordic Skiing is since the beginning of the club in focus. At the beginning of the 20th century first sporting successes have been won by club members. Beginning of March 1922 ordered the club to the first Vasaloppet, the vonstattenging on the 19th of the month and was won by Ernst Alm. In the following years was Anders Ström most important athletes of the club, because on one hand it took part in the first Olympic champion of the club at the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 and secondly in 1931 as the first runner of the club won the Vasaloppet. Football
