Ignatz Lichtenstein

Ignatz Lichtenstein ( * 1824, † October 16, 1909, incorrectly referred to Isaac Lichtenstein ) was a Hungarian Orthodox rabbi who " as the reigning rabbi on pamphlets defended the conversion to Christianity ." Although his life he refused to be baptized Christian, he gave in 1892, ultimately to be a rabbi. In 1894, a biography of him appeared in the missionary magazine of the Methodist Episcopal Church The Gospel in All Lands. Messianic Jews later mentioned him as an example of the 19th century by a turn towards the " Jewish believers in Jesus ."
