Igor Andreev

Igor Andreev Valeryevich (Russian Игорь Валерьевич Андреев; * July 14, 1983 in Moscow ) is a former Russian tennis player.

Career

Andreev won in 2002, his first Futures tournaments, including Vierumaki (Finland ) in the final against Sweden's Robin Soderling. When Challenger tournament in Braunschweig in 2003, he reached a final for the first time on the Challenger tour, losing to Werner Esch Auer of Austria in straight sets.

As part of the ATP Tour Andreev played for the first time in September 2003 in Bucharest, but retired in the second round against Jose Acasuso from. After 2003, he reached the quarterfinals at the ATP tournament in Moscow, Andreev managed to place 97 at the same time to make it into the top 100 players in the world. His first ATP final graduated from the Russian, 2004 in Gstaad, losing to the then world number one Roger Federer, but was able to win a set. On 11 April 2005 Andreyev finally won his first ATP tournament in Valencia. Having already beaten the favored Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals, he was also against David Ferrer in the final victorious. In September 2005, he won his second ATP title in Palermo on clay after 0:6, 6:1 and 6:3 defeated in the final Filippo Volandri. A month later, track number three in his hometown of Moscow against Nicolas Kiefer.

Overall, Igor Andreev won three individual titles in his career as part of the ATP Tour and reached six finals in doubles, he won the tournament in Moscow in 2004 and reached a year later at the same tournament in the final. Andreyev regarded as a good clay court player. Two of his three ATP tournament victories he secured a sandy bottom, and three of his four Futures titles he won on clay. His highest ever ranking in the world ranking was number 18, which he reached in November 2008.

At season's end of 2013 Andreyev ended his career.
