Igor Denisov

Igor Vladimirovich Denisov (Russian Игорь Владимирович Денисов; born May 17, 1984 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, USSR ) is a Russian football player at the position of midfielder. He currently plays for FK Dynamo Moscow.

After he had played in his youth at Turbostroitel and Smena, he moved in 2001 to Zenit St. Petersburg. There he sat by in the following years and is now part of the starting eleven under coach Dick Advocaat. In 2007 he was with his club Russian master, in the 2007 /2008 season he was with Zenit with a 2-0 victory over the Rangers surprisingly UEFA Cup winners. In the final Denisov scored in the 72nd minute, the cutting-edge 1-0. Initially, it was defeated big clubs like Bayern Munich and Leverkusen. He also won the 2008 Russian Super Cup.

Denisov was already wearing the captain's armband in the U -21 national team of Russia and was appointed in March 2007 for the first time in the senior team. On 29 July 2010 he extended his contract until 2015.

For the 2013/14 season Denisov moved to Anzhi Makhachkala. In mid-August he was sold in the same transfer window after three league inserts together with Alexander Kokorin and Yuri Shirkov to FK Dynamo Moscow.

Igor Denisov is married and father of four children. He lives with his family in the Moscow Oblast.
