Igor Lapshin

Igor Olegovich Lapshin (Russian Игорь Олегович Лапшин; born August 8, 1963 in Minsk ) is a retired Belarusian athlete who was starting for the Soviet Union successfully as a triple jumper.

The most significant success of his career, he celebrated at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. There, he won with a width of 17.52 m silver medal behind Christo Markov ( 17.61 m ) and before Alexander Kovalenko ( 17.42 m).

1990 won Lapshin at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Glasgow. In the same year he finished in Split at the European Athletics Championships outdoors in third place behind Leonid Voloshin and Christo Markov. 1991 Hall Lapshin was world champion in Seville. It was his last major international success. He competed at the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart in 1993 again under Belarusian flag, but failed to qualify.

Igor Lapshin is 1,88 m tall and had a competition weight of 71 kg.
