Igor Ulanov

Igor Sergeyevich Ulanow (Russian Игорь Сергеевич Уланов; born October 1, 1969 in Krasnokamsk, Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who is 2012 head coach of Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg since October.

Career

His career began in 1985 /86 Molot Perm - Prikamye. Here the defender played until he joined the 1987/88 season for SKA Sverdlovsk changed. From 1990 to 1992 he played for Chimik Woskressensk. NHL Entry Draft 1991, he was selected in the tenth round to 203 place by the Winnipeg Jets. So he ventured after the collapse of the Soviet Union made ​​it into the National Hockey League.

At the end of the 1991/92 season he joined the Jets and sat there through the first time. During the season 1994/95 he was released to the Washington Capitals. The 1995/96 season he joined the Chicago Blackhawks. In the course of the season he moved to the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he played two and a half seasons. In the NHL, he spent up to 2006 a total of 14 seasons.

In 2006 he returned to Russia to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. In January 2008, he left the club due to clashes with the former coach. The 2008/09 season spent at HK Dinamo Minsk before he finished his career.

In October 2012, he was introduced as the head coach of Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg and managed the team until the end of the season. Subsequently, he was assistant coach of his successor Anatoli Jemelin.

Internationally

In 1994 he was appointed to the team of the Russian national team and participated in the World Cup, where his team finished fifth. Two years later, he took part with the Russian selection at the World Cup of Hockey, where they reached the semifinals.
