Igor Volk

Igor Petrovich Volk (Russian Игорь Петрович Волк, scientific transliteration Igor Petrovich people, born April 12, 1937 in Smijiw, Kharkov Oblast, Ukrainian SSR ) is a pilot and former Soviet cosmonaut. Wolk flew as a test pilot for the first flight of Buran OK - GLI prototype.

Life

Igor Wolk graduated 1956, the military pilot flight training school in Kirovograd, before he went to the store " Strela " of the Moscow State Aviation Institute, which he successfully completed in 1969. After Wolk in 1978 selected as a cosmonaut, he began in December 1978, the basic training for cosmonauts OKP, which, after acceptance by the State Inter-agency Commission on 30 July 1980 who wanted to use the pilot as a cosmonaut for the Buran program in July 1980 was able to complete.
