Imperial Ancestral Temple

( Called Taimiao太庙, also Mingtang明堂) The Imperial Ancestral Temple is a historic site dating back to the Ming and the Qing Dynasty in Beijing. It is located east of Tian'anmen tower. In the temple, the Emperor sacrificed to their ancestors. The system consisted of front, center and rear hall and other side halls on both sides. In 1924 it became the Heping Park ( Heping gonggyuan ). Since 1950 it is located in the Beijing Cultural Palace of working people.

The Imperial Ancestral Temple Open since 1988 on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 3-80).
