Temple of the Moon (China)

The moon altar or temple of the moon ( Yuetan月 坛) in Beijing's Xicheng district town was built in the Ming Dynasty and during the time of the Ming and Qing Dynasties from the emperor used to sacrifice purposes. At the opposite end of the city center sun altar ( Ritan ) is in Ritan Park.

The Moon altar is on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 6-301 ) since 2006.

The temple is located in Yuetan Park and Moon Altar Park (月坛公园).
