Inatès (also: Inates ) is a rural municipality in the Department Tilabéri in Niger.

Geography

Inatès located in the Sahel region and is bordered to the north by the neighboring country of Mali. The neighboring communities in Niger are Tondikiwindi in the east, the south and Anzourou Ayérou in the West. The municipality is divided into five administrative villages, a traditional village and a hamlet. The main town of the country church is the administrative village Inatès.

History

1899 reached the area of Inatès as part of the newly created circle Sinder under French military administration. 1905, the site became part of the new military territory of Niger. As an administrative unit, the rural community Inatès 2002 was developed at a nationwide administrative reform. The Canton Ayorou was dissolved and divided its territory to the communities Inatès and Ayérou. When the floods in West and Central Africa 2010 2555 Resident of Inatès were classified as disaster victims, as many as in any other municipality in the department of Tilabéri.

Population

At the 2001 census Inatès had 2113 inhabitants. For the year 2010 2796 population were calculated. Inatès is that community in the region Tilabéri with the fewest residents.

52 % of the population of Inatès were classified in a study of the French NGO ACTED as poor or very poor 2011. More than 72 % of the population had access to latrines in the vicinity, in comparison with other municipalities in the north of Tilabéri region of high value.

Economy and infrastructure

The community is located at the junction of the zone of Agropastoralismus of the South to the zone of pure pastoral economy of the North.
