Pilar de Borbón, Infanta of Spain, Duchess of Badajoz ( María del Pilar Alfonsa Juana Victoria Luisa Ignacia de Todos los Santos de Borbón y Borbón - Dos Sicilias ) ( born July 30, 1936 in Cannes) is the daughter of Juan de Borbón y Battenberg, Count of Barcelona and María de las Mercedes de Borbón y Orléans. She is the sister of Juan Carlos I and the Duchess of Soria, Infanta Margarita. She married in Lisbon Luis Gómez- Acebo y Duque de Estrada, Count of Torre, who died on 9 March 1991. They have five children:

  • Luisa Gómez- Acebo Simoneta de Borbón (* October 28, 1968 )
  • Juan Filiberto Nicolás Gómez- Acebo de Borbón (born 6 December 1969), Vizconde Torre
  • Bruno Alejandro Gómez- Acebo de Borbón ( born June 15, 1971)
  • Beltrán Luis Alfonso Gómez- Acebo de Borbón (born 20 May 1973)
  • Fernando Gómez- Acebo Umberto de Borbon (born 30 September 1974)

The Infanta Pilar renounced her claim to the throne, as she entered a marriage with a man who is not with the provisions of the Pragmatic Sanction on spouses of members of the Royal Family of Charles III. was consistent. My waiver was made, however, before the adoption of the new Spanish Constitution and was never approved by the Spanish Parliament.

Although the Pragmatic Sanction is considered obsolete, yet the majority of experts believes that Doña Pilar, her sister and their children are excluded from the succession.

The Infanta was 1994-2005 President of the International Federation of Equestrian Sports and continues to support today the international equestrian sport. She wrote the foreword for the official Spanish translation of the guidelines for riding and driving - more advanced training of the German Equestrian Federation (FN ) ( Técnicas de Avanzadas Equitación - Manual Oficial de la Federación de Instrucción Ecuestre Alemana ). This book was published in Spain and Latin America and the entire project was supported by prominent horsemen, and officers of the International Equestrian Federation ( FEI ). She is a member of the International Olympic Committee and the Spanish National Olympic Committee.
