Ingar Zach

Ingar Zach ( born June 29, 1971 in Oslo) is a Norwegian percussionist who is both emerged in the field of jazz as the new improvised music.

Life and work

Zach studied music at the University of Oslo (1993 ), then in jazz composition program of the Conservatory of Music in Trondheim ( 1994-97 ). During this time he played in the folk big band Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag and Harnihomba. Between 1997 and 2000 he worked with Håkon Kornstad and David Stackenäs trio Tri - Dim, with whom he recorded two albums. In 2000 he founded with guitarist Ivar Grydeland the label sofa and formed with him and Tonny divides the Huntsville trio released five albums until 2013. In addition, he was heard with Derek Bailey, Anders Hana and the Trio No Spaghetti Edition. Furthermore, he was one of Jon Balke's Magnetic North Orchestra, but also took up with Karl Seglem, Carl Petter Opsahl, Philipp Wachsmann, Charlotte Hug Jaap Blonk or. With Ivar Grydeland, Xavier Charles and Christian Wallumrød he formed the group Dans Les Arbres, which released two albums on the ECM label. With Kim Myhr and Jim Denley, he worked beside the ensemble Mural.
