Ingo Buding

Ingo buding ( born January 9, 1942 in Lovrin, Romania, † March 13, 2003 in Bandol, France ) was a German tennis player.

Ingo buding belongs to the ethnic group of the Banat Swabians. After the Second World War, he was sold as an ethnic German from Romania to Germany. Here he began a successful tennis career.

In 1970 he led as captain and player for the first time a German Davis Cup team in a final. In Cleveland, the final venue, the Germans were subject but clearly the American opponents 5-0. Overall, he played 51 games 1961-1970 in the Davis Cup.

For his achievements, he was ( DTB) was honored with the Golden Badge of Honour and on 23 November 1970 with his Davis Cup colleague Wilhelm Bungert and Christian Kuhnke with the " Silver Laurel Leaf " by the German Tennis Federation. The Silver Bay Leaf has been to date only seven women and five men on (including twice in a Davis Cup team) awarded.

Ingo buding is brother of Edda buding, who was also a successful tennis player and also one of the winners of the Silver Laurel leaf.

Ingo buding died at the age of 61 years in southern France Bandol.
