Ingvild Stensland

Ingvild Stensland ( born August 3, 1981 in Lyngdal ) is a Norwegian football player and currently captain of the women's national team.

Association

The 174 cm playmaker grew up in southern Norway in a family of footballers on: her father is a football coach, her two older sisters, Vibeke and Kristin, were dedicated to the sport early. Ingvild Stensland also began playing football at the age of six years. First, she was active in her hometown in Lyngdal IL, and later played for Athene Moss. In 2002, she joined the Kolbotn IL, where she was employed in the central defense and gradually more and more frequently in the midfield. Your good performances in the National League and in European competitions in 2005 led to a contract offer from 1 FFC Turbine Potsdam, which, however, did not accept. In early 2007, she joined the other hand, the Swedish club Göteborg FC. From 1 January 2009, she played for Olympique Lyon. For the 2011 season, she moved to Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC and the 2012 season in their home to Stabæk FK.

National

Stensland took part with the U-18 team at the U-18 Football Championship Women 1999, took fourth place in Norway.

In the Norwegian Ingvild Stensland national team debut on 23 January 2003 at the Four Nations Tournament in China in the match against the USA. She participated in the 2005 European Championship in England and also belonged to the squad of Norway to the 2007 World Cup in China. In this tournament, she was appointed to the All- Star team of the best players. At the tournament for the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 she reached the quarter-finals with Norway, at the European Championships 2009 in Finland the semifinals.

On 15 September 2010 she made her 100th international game in the second playoff game of the World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.

Previously completed Stensland 131 matches and scored 8 hits, including one each in friendlies against Germany and England. (As of October 26, 2013 ).

The trained teacher in 2005 was elected to the Norwegian footballer of the year. In 2006 she was nominated as the only Norwegian for the election for the FIFA World Player - 2006.

In 2011 she won with Olympique Lyon UEFA Women's Champions League 2010/11, but was used due to injuries only two games.

Stensland was called into the squad for the 2011 World Cup and substitute in a friendly against Germany on June 16, 2011 after eight months of international break in the second half. When Vorrundenaus the Norwegian team led in all three group matches Norway as captain on the field. But after the long injury lay-off she could give a few pulses the game the Norwegian team.

In 2013 she took part for the third time in the finals of the European Football Championship Women, and was used in all six games. By a 0-1 defeat in the final against Germany, she became vice European champion.
