Iñigo Vélez

Íñigo Vélez de Mendizábal Fernández de Garaïalde, short Íñigo ( born March 15, 1982 in Vitoria- Gasteiz ), is a Spanish footballer who plays in the Spanish Segunda División plays for Deportivo Xerez.

Playing career

Íñigo began his career as a footballer in the second team of Espanyol. There he played in the 2003/2004 season and was successful five times in 25 games. Then the native Basque moved to his home and played three years for SD Eibar. The fourth place 2004/2005 followed the descent as Table. In the season 2006/2007 he went with his team but also right back from the Segunda División B on. Despite the rise Iñigo left his club to play in the first division. In the summer of 2007 he signed a contract with newly promoted Real Murcia.

After a personally successful season for him, he left Murcia after relegation after just one year and signed a contract with the Basque club Athletic Bilbao tradition. There, however, he could not sit down and was transferred a year later to the second division CD Numancia. After two seasons and over 60 missions, he moved to league rivals Deportivo Xerez and signed a one year contract there.
