Inner Ring Road, Berlin
The Berlin inner ring road is a mostly existing road links to the historic center of Berlin in the Mitte, Pankow and Friedrichshain -Kreuzberg. The name on the " inside " is due to the location within the originally planned Berlin City A ring 100 and the wide encircling Berlin ring A 10
The inner -city ring road from the train station in a clockwise direction about the disability road, Caroline Michaelis Road, Julie Wolf Thorn Street, Bernauer Strasse, Eberswalde road, Danziger Straße, St. Petersburg street, Warsaw street on the upper tree (upper tree bridge ), Upper Tree Road, Skalitzer road, Gitschiner street, Hallesches shore and Reichpietschufer (northern carriageway ) and Waterloo -Ufer, Tempelhof shore, Schöneberg shore (southern road ) and the tunnel Tiergarten Spreebogenpark (TTS ) back to the central railway station.
The course is in the southern area between Halleschem Tor and Warschauer Brücke congruent with the location of the Berlin customs and excise wall that encircled the old Berlin until 1861. The tariff wall street lanes were before - and downstream, so that after the demolition remained just as space for a wide boulevard. The western area was determined by the construction of the Tiergarten tunnel through the relief road that led past just outside the ancient walls leadership at the Brandenburg Gate and thus at the Reichstag building. In the northern and eastern portion of the inner ring road follows a ring road of Hobrecht plan, which in part apparent north (compare with Torstraße ) than the Akzisemauer runs, so no historically continuous connection to Bernauer Straße disability exists at the road. The theoretically available width Bernauer Strasse results from demolition of older buildings in the course of the construction of the Berlin Wall from 1961.
Since June 2011, the city ring belonging section of the disability road is four lanes expanded and extended the tram from North Station through the disability road to the main train station. After completion of this work the inner ring will then be completely closed.
