Insat-3A

Insat -3A is an Indian multi-purpose satellite, which is used for telecommunications and television broadcasting as well as serves as a weather satellite and for search and rescue operations. It was from the Insat -3 series of ISRO, the third satellite launched. The satellite is equipped with a total of 25 transponders, which transmit in the 18 C-band and the extended C - band, and six in the Ku - band. Another transponder is reserved supported for the satellite search and rescue operations and part of the international COSPAS- SARSAT system. Insat -3A covers mainly the Indian subcontinent and in some cases the Asian region within the Indian Ocean.
