Institute for New Testament Textual Research

The Institute for New Testament Textual Research ( INTF ) is part of the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster explored as a priority the textual history of the New Testament and reconstructs the Greek source text based on the entire manuscript tradition, the early translations and patristic quotations.

The INTF publishes editions and resources, including the expenditure which Novum Testamentum Grace and Greek New Testament Editio Critica Maior and the. History

The Institute for New Testament Textual Research in Münster was founded by Kurt Aland (1915-1994) in 1959. Since the 50s Aland Novum Testamentum had already worked on Grace by Eberhard Nestle and Erwin Nestle. In INTF this issue at hand was then further revised and edited and was under the name of Nestle -Aland trademark of the Institute. 1966 came as a second hand edition added the for- translator Greek New Testament, which is now marketed under the umbrella of UBS. The main objective of the Institute is called the Editio Critica Maior, the underlying puts the entire tradition of the New Testament in Greek manuscripts, ancient translations and New Testament quotations in ancient Christian literature. 1979 was founded by Kurt Aland, the Bible Museum of Münster, which also introduces the Institute's work to a wider public.

In 1983, Barbara Aland and 2004, her husband in the Institute. Under their leadership, the evaluation of the material was continued and made ​​available to the science in many publications. In 1997, the first delivery of the Editio Critica Maior with the Epistle of James.

Projects

Editio Critica Maior

The main objective of the Institute is the Editio Critica Maior of the Greek New Testament, the first time based on the total material of the preserved Greek manuscripts, ancient translations and the New Testament quotations in ancient Christian literature. In 1997, the first delivery of the Editio Critica Maior appeared with the letter of James, 2013, the band with the Catholic Epistles in 2nd edition.
