Internationale Junge Orchesterakademie

The International Young Orchestra Academy ( IJOA ) is an international selection Orchestra. Since its inception, the IJOA concerted at about 260 concerts in Germany and Europe.

History

The IJOA was founded in 1994 by Ulrich S. Schubert and Andreas Goeldel with the participation of August Everding and the Australian conductor Sir Charles Mackerras. The Academy is occupied annually through an international tender and consists of about 110 musicians from 30 nations.

During the working phase, the program is developed in addition to the Tutti samples with faculty in voice samples. The samples work is done in Pleystein in the Upper Palatinate. In a two-week phase of work is in the music center Pleystein under the guidance of teachers, among others the Musikhochschule in Cologne, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, the Munich Philharmonic and the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, a sound body shape.

Will be rehearsed in alternating cycles a large symphonic work, mostly 19th century, including of Mahler, Bruckner, Tchaikovsky and Brahms. In addition, the young musician had the opportunity at the Bayreuth Easter Festival 2007, where Antonio Salieri's " Prima la musica e poi le parole " was performed under the baton of Christoph Ulrich Meier in Margravial Opera House, 2008, Gluck's " Iphigenia in Tauris " and 2009 with Handel " Alcina " participate in an opera project. Furthermore, the Festival Brass (Director: Bob Ross, Blechschaden ) organized. In addition, there are jazz and salon orchestra workshops.

The rehearsed during the working phase plants are then placed on a charity tour, which include the Bayreuth Easter Festival and the Easter Festival of Northern Upper Palatinate to the performance. Guest venues include the Margrave Opera House in Bayreuth (since 2010 under renovation ), willow ( Max -Reger- Halle), Selb ( Rosenthal Theatre ), Jena ( Philharmonie ), Leipzig ( St. Thomas Church ) and Bielefeld ( Neustaedter Marienkirche ).

Over two days, the concert program is recorded under professional guidance. Since 2006, this is done in co-production with Bayerischer Rundfunk.

The proceeds of the concerts and the benefit CD comes with the purposes of cultural and social foundation that organized the Orchestra Academy, benefit. The main objectives of the Cultural and Social Foundation, the Help for children with cancer in the region through donations from the proceeds of the benefit concert, supporting young musicians, and international understanding through making music together musicians from around the world.

Played works are Mahler 's Symphony No. 1, 4, 5 & 10, Mahler 's Symphony No. 2 ( Bayreuth premiere ) Mahler songs, Bruckner 's Symphony No. 4 and No. 8, Bruckner 's Symphony No. 7, Salieri " Prima la musica ", Gluck 's "Iphigenie en Tauride ," Handel " Alcina ", Beethoven 's Symphony No. 7, Tchaikovsky symphonies 4, 5 & 6, Dvorak symphonies 8 & 9, Bruch Violin Concerto, Mendelssohn 's Violin Concerto, Wagner preludes and overtures to Parsifal, Lohengrin, Tannhäuser & Flying Dutchman, Grieg Holberg Suite, Vivaldi Four Seasons, Mozart 's Violin Concerto in A major and Horn Concerto in E flat major, Bach 's Brandenburg Concertos, Bach Violin Concerto in A minor, Liszt 's Piano Concerto No. 1, Schumann 's Symphony No. 4, Brahms' Symphony No. 2.
