Ippolito d'Este
I. Ippolito d'Este (* March 20 1479 in Ferrara, † September 3, 1520 ) was a son of Ercole I d' Este, Duke of Ferrara, Modena and Reggio, and brother of Isabella d' Este ( 1474 -1539 ), Beatrice d' Este ( 1475-1497 ) and Alfonso I d' Este ( 1476-1534 ).
Already the age of seven he was appointed by King Matthias Corvinus as Archbishop of Gran, age 14 ( 1493 ) cardinal, and when 17- year-old Archbishop of Milan. He traded with Tamás Bakócz his chair Archbishop of Gran and was for Bishop of Eger ( 1497-1520 ). He was also Archbishop of Capua (from 1502) as well as Bishop of Ferrara (from 1503).
