Irene Curtoni

Irene Curtoni ( born August 11, 1985 in Échirolles, France) is an Italian alpine skier and sports soldier. She specializes in the slalom and giant slalom. Her younger sister Elena is also a ski racer.

Biography

In December 2000 Curtoni took part for the first time in FIS races, bets in the European Cup was followed in February 2002. During several years it fell by their performance on hard and it seemed as if she could not realize her talent. However, this changed in the 2007/ 08 season, when they scored in the European Cup numerous good results and finally decided the slalom discipline rating for themselves.

Curtoni denied 29 December 2007 her first World Cup race, a slalom in Lienz. World Cup points they won for the first time on 13 January 2008, 16 of the slalom in Maribor. In March 2010, she won the silver medal in the giant slalom at the first Winter Military World Games and was Italian Champion in slalom and giant slalom. In the second half of the season 2010/11 it achieved a rank eighth in the giant slalom in Zwiesel and seventh in the slalom in Spindleruv Mlyn their first top-10 results in the World Cup.

On 2 March 2012 Curtoni succeeded in the first World Cup podium as she drove in the giant slalom in Ofterschwang to third place.
