The Irkut (Russian Иркут; Mongolian and Buryat Эрхүү гол ) is about 488 km long, left-sided or western tributary of the Angara River in Siberia, Russia ( Asia).

Course

The river arises in the southwest of the Republic of Buryatia in the eastern part of the Ostsajans, a high mountain range in the South Siberian mountains. He entfließt located on the 1952 m height Iltschirsee, fed, among others, by the mountain Iltschir ( 2352 m) coming and about 10 km long Iltschir.

In Sayan Irkut a bit to the west and a little to the south and southeast flows only.
