Ironiclast is the debut album of American Hard-Rock-/Heavy-Metal-Band The Damned Things. It was released on 13 December 2010 by Iceland Records.

Formation

Over a period of several years wrote Scott Ian and Joe Trohman numerous songs, recorded in late 2009 as a demo. The musicians sent the demo to various record labels and were finally taken from Iceland Records. As of January 2010, the band began pre-production of Albumns. Since both Anthrax and Every Time I Die were on tour, had to be delayed in time the recordings. Overall, did the recording, which took place in the Metro Sonic Studios in New York City, about two and a half months. It was produced by Rob Caggiano Ironiclast which grossed well as the bass. As a guest singer Stephanie Alexander and Tabitha Fair occurred. The album was mixed by Nick Raskulinecz, the mastering done by Dave McNair.

The album title is a pun on the words irony (English for irony ) and Iconoclast (English for iconoclasm or iconoclasm ). Joe Trohman stated in a video that the musicians ' representative of their regular bands would be and it is quite ironic that these musicians together form a band. "

Reception

The German magazine Metal Hammer has named Ironiclast for " Album of the Month ". Chief editor Christof glue Ironiclast described in his review as an album that " contemporary and timeless sounds at the same time, but especially heavy, grippy and engaging " and everything has what " horny heavy rock must have ".
